Omni La Mansion del Rio: A luxurious staycation spot awaits you in San Antonio

Omni La Mansion del Rio: A luxurious staycation spot awaits you in San Antonio

It is unbelievable we’ve been avoiding hen parties with our chicas and sightseeing tours with family for so long.

As vaccination triumphs over the contagious virus, everyone wants to tick off their bucket list. However, CDC still discourages nonessential travel.

With vacation trips out of the equation, staycation appears as the mood saver.

And San Antonio deserves to be your summer getaway this year. The second-largest city of Texas carries a momentous history and booms with adventurous activities.

Today, I’ll introduce an artistic hotel for your staycation spot that I and Jonas recently visited. Its indoor aesthetics are unparalleled, and the proximity to downtown attractions makes it a clear-cut winner!

It is the Omni partner hotel – La Mansion del Rio.

If you’ve seen the legendary River Walk, you will identify this multistorey hotel with a brilliant white structure having terra-cotta stripes and wrought iron railings on waterfront balconies.

So, let’s dive into the fascinating characteristics that I noticed during my stay.

The hotel’s magical vibes

As you walk past the reception, the elegance of Omni La Mansion casts its charming spells, to which escape is impossible.

A valet welcomes you upon arrival with his sweet smile. However, you can opt for public parking to save up some bucks.

On entering the lobby, you hit the center where all hallways and bars line up for your attraction – even though the curved staircase remains a focal point!

La Mansion hotel is the unique blend of Spanish architecture and modern décor!

The wooden beam ceilings and brick feature walls provide the rooms a vintage twist; whereas, a 48” HDTV with an endless playlist and marble bathrooms with teddy bear robes look after guests’ comfort.

This Four Diamond AAA hotel debuted in 1968 over the remarkable legacy of St. Mary’s Institute after the tolling bells relocated two years prior. It’s been over 50 years Omni La Mansion is retaining its historical insight to the colonial era – a pure San Antonio feel!

The first-rate amenities

This Omni hotel is the concave of contemporary facilities. From river cruising to spa treatments, it shapes everyone’s desired San Antonio tour – business travelers, fun-seeking geeks, lovebirds!

Among top-tier amenities the grand hacienda has to offer, I’ve picked a few shining ones.

Courtyard Pool:

The most appealing part of staying here is that you’ll have 24-hour entertainment. And the primary wow factor is this sizable heated pool in the ornamented courtyard. Whether you’re sipping on a cocktail, cheering to mariachi bands, or just chilling on a sun lounger, it’s a next-level experience.

Grand Ballrooms:

Another unusual thing I noticed here is the ballrooms. Five spacious rooms are allotted to host private gatherings. Iberian is the hotspot for luxurious weddings, lying in the outskirts of the River Walk, presenting immersive chandeliers, and serving delicious cuisine.

City’s Finest Restaurant:

If swirling water and graceful event spaces weren’t enough to sway you, the finger-licking good menu of Las Canarias will! Omni La Mansion is the home to the city’s best dining option. Where diverse American dishes attract food connoisseurs, the divine waterfront backdrop makes it an iconic couple retreat.

Recent Add-ons:

Last year, La Mansion unveiled a multimillion-dollar renovation. The hotel gathered world-class updates under its umbrella while maintaining the original tint. As of now, all 338 rooms have compact refrigerators, smart LEDs, RFID door locks, grooming devices, upgraded furniture, and Wi-Fi service. Also, a 24/7 ATM facility is available in the lobby.

Instagram-worthy View:

La Mansion del Rio is a one-of-its-kind romantic getaway. All guest rooms and suites have access to a balcony overlooking the dramatic River Walk or lavish European-styled gardens. Imagine opening up a wood-framed French door and sharing the intimate sight while holding hands with your significant other.

Special Offers:

The receptionist spreads the hotel’s concierge offers as a croupier. You might be interested in a guided tour, romance offer, Rio cruise package, or loyalty program. Furthermore, the Omni Kids Crew program greets children with a gift pack full of toys and toffees, making me return with my kiddos this time.

Forbes Four-Star SPA:

There sits La Mansion’s cousin resort across the river – Mokara Hotel and Spa. You can sneak into San Antonio’s only luxurious spa and fitness center. Enjoy a revitalizing salon service or get stuffed to the gills at Ostra seafood restaurant. Mokara is an incredible oasis of refreshment, so much so that Forbes declared it the finest property in all of Texas.

The picturesque River Walk

San Antonio River marks the edges of major tourist attractions. Thus, its 15-mile winding sidewalks make a pleasant route to navigate the downtown bounties.

Stroll and Shop – Eat and Explore!!

These are fun things to do at historical Paseo del Rio, more commonly known as the River Walk. This “American Venice” is a scenic crossover of bustling markets and a quiet urban ecosystem.

Thousands of people flock here every day from all corners of the Lone State. But this picture-postcard lies within walking distance from Omni La Mansion. So lock up your room, cross the parking lot – and you’re all set to go!

Even though exploring on foot evokes a lovey-dovey image, it’s recommended to jump on a boat ride. It’ll take you to nearby sites such as King William Historic District and the epitome of resistance – the Alamo.

The cruise will drop you on the Mission Reach. For me, it’s a jaw-dropping section of the River Walk. In addition, there is an eight-mile paddling trail where you can try various water sports. Contact Mission Adventure Tours company for guided kayaking.

Few must-see spots are Casa Rio riverside dining, La Villita museum, and the gleaming Aztec Theatre. If you get fortunate, you might behold one of the holiday parades as well.

Abandon your diet plans at the historic Pearl. From Mexican tacos to Italian pizza, the eateries on River Walk showcase worldwide culinary prowess!

It’s apparent that God’s children find comfort in different activities. But whoever returns from these ecstatic waterways has tons of exciting tales and social media stories.

The ultimate cleaning protocols

Although the fatal pathogen is fading away from our lives, safety is paramount!

Omni Safe and Clean initiative is redefining the on-site cleaning procedures. At La Mansion del Rio, signboards are affixed everywhere in public areas and elevator gates to ensure mask-wearing and social distancing.

There are numerous sanitization stations throughout the resort. Besides guests, associates also follow local recommendations and carry “I’m Cool” stickers.

On complying with CDC disinfection guidelines, the management has thoroughly restructured its daily operations. For example, high-touch areas such as doors incorporate keycard locks to reduce contact. Speaking of food outlets or meeting spaces, frequent cleaning through EPA-certified cleansers is in place.

Meanwhile, I felt safe ever since my hubby confirmed the accommodation.
