Simplydaph x Uptownwithellybrown 

Hey hey! Hope all of you are doing well. I’m so excited to share this with you all. One of my all-time favorite bloggers Uptownwithellybrown reached out to me and asked if we could do this fun style collab and I was ecstatic! Elly is a lifestyle, beauty, and mom blogger based here in Houston, Tx. She’s a phenomenal content creator and her sense of style is second to none. She’s a wife and mother of 4 beautiful kiddos. Her desire to please God and represent him is beautiful and quite admirable.

We’ve been friends for a little over a year now and she’s been so instrumental in my growth and helping me develop my brand. Elly has been so consistent and one that I’ve seen take action to become an ally to us black creators to help ensure that our voices are heard. She’s been working tirelessly behind the scenes and openly to exhibit togetherness and diversity in her content and on her social feeds. Her spirit and heart is beautiful and I’m so glad that we can connect this way to show others that we can all be a part of creating a change for the better to rid this world of racism and inequality for good! Welp, lets get to the reason why we are here!! As I stated earlier  I have teamed up with my girl Elly to take one article of clothing to show you how to style it 2 different ways. When styling pieces I think it’s interesting to see how we as individuals can make it look so unique when we put our own flavor to it. It’s Summer and although we are indoors for the most part, I still love to share style inspo and my favorite WFH pieces. 

I absolutely LOVE doing this for you all and myself! I realize not all of us have the budget to spend thousands on pieces to build our dream wardrobe so I love coming up with multiple looks from what I currently have hanging in my closet! This time around I am styling my favorite LWD (little white dress) and came up with 2 different ways to wear it. I’m excited to see which one is your favorite!

The dress is from Ruthie Grace Boutiqe, which is one of my favorite local boutiques right here in Houston! This dress has beautiful lace detail with an elastic waist and it’s sleeveless, which is perfect for this Texas Summer heat. 

I styled it with an old studded taupe criss cross looped belt that I purchased from The Limited many years ago. I wanted to belt it because I felt it added a little something extra to this simple look. To tie it together I added a pair of taupe heels that I’ve been having for a good while now, by L.A.M.B one of my favorite shoe brands. The hand bag that I chose to wear with it was my Zara snake print crossbody bag. I tucked the chain strap inside so I’m wearing it as a statement clutch. I styled my hair with loose curls (don’t mind the Houston humidity that got the best of my hairdo) and I added my Chloe’ sunnies. There you have it, an elevated look with modern accessories. 
Chic and simple! 
This look can be worn to a dinner date, brunch or even church. 
With this style collab I chose to dress the LWD up and Elly dresses it down. She styles it with an oversized gently distressed denim jacket. She belted the dress along with the jacket to give it a little edginess. To finish it off just add sneakers which gives this entire look a European feel. Elly is wearing a studded white mini tote and tortoise sunnies. She’s also accessorizing with a few colorful textured bracelets. Totally a look you could pull off on a weekend of running errands and such or a casual Friday at the office, when we can finally return to the workplace. Elly totally rocked this look right? Told ya her style was amazing!
